Back in the Swing of Things, by Daniel Corrigan, Blue Bee Men Stylist

Ties are no longer your dads uniform for work. Work should be fun and so should your outfit. Make yourself noticeable, maybe you'll get a raise! Or if you're looking to impress your teachers at school, show up fresh as can be. Its all about mis-matching shirts and ties. We are getting some great ties in from Paul Smith and Band of Outsiders. Don't hold back on colors, patterns, and different combinations. We are all about pairing the ties with Band of Outsider shirts, and The Shirt from Joe's. The guys at Blue Bee Men and Blue Beetle put on a mini photo shoot in front of our store today. This was the outcome. Keep it Rad, Daniel

Join the Band of Outsiders, by Daniel Corrigan, Blue Bee Men Stylist

I can't name all the celebs that sport Band of Outsiders. I do know Kanye West rocks it and Band of Outsiders is in every magazine you pick up theses days. But really who the fuck cares where it is. Band is still an underground fashion label. I do not care where I am if I see someone wearing a Band of Outsiders shirt, I connect with him. I am not one for collecting; in fact I tend to get rid of clothing fairly often as I seem to move once a year. But one thing I am proud of is My Band Of Outsiders collection so far: I have rounded up 2 pairs of Sperry Topsiders by Band, 5 shirts, and 1 tie. As the label on each shirt wrinkles in time more end up in my collection. And I would be willing to say I wear 4 of the shirts in one week. I have to give thanks to my fellow Blue Beetle employee (and your favorite web model) who gave me a few of his shirts because he got too buff for them. These shirts are the true definition of class and perfection in tailoring.

Daniel is wearing Salt Optics glasses. They are available at www.bluebeemen.com.

A Wrinkle in Time, Steven Alan by Daniel Corrigan, Blue Bee Men Buyer

Steven Alan celebrates his unique approach to American classics this Fall. His inspiration touches on fashion in the 1960's as well as traditional American work wear. The button up shirts feature American collegiate and prep school looks mixed in with fun patterns, polka dots, reds, purples, greens and yellows. Reading into Steven Alan and his inspiration for Fall I discovered he looked into some of Americans classic shirts such as Pendleton, Woolrich, and L.L. Bean. As summer turns to fall, these shirts are great to layer over a v-neck, or crew neck shirt. The greatest part about these shirts is you will never need to iron them, in fact I recommend embracing the wrinkles!

Joe's for the Bro's and the Ho's
Posted by Marty Bebout

Here is the staff of Blue Bee Jeans and Blue Beetle wearing The Shirt by Joe's. Don't we look good in them? These super-chill and super-soft shirts are also super-affordable at $98 a pop!

Tara and Megan are national sales reps for Joe's. Tara for the ho's, Megan for the bro's. We are getting ready for the Blue Bee Back to School Block Party, Saturday, August 15th, 2009.

This nice guy bought 4 pairs of Joe's. Thanks bro! Rock that shit, Megan!

Tara sold dozens of pairs. She never gets tired after 6 years of selling Joe's!

It was a long and fruitful day, busy like old times. Is the recession over everywhere? - or just at

We'd like to thank Elena, Carol, Jennifer, Mark, and Joe. We appreciate your support for Blue Bee, a small specialty store. Joe's rocks!

Simon Miller Jeans Rockin' The Denim World by Daniel Corrigan, Blue Beetle Stylist and Buyer

This New Zealand native is taking over the selvedge jean world, one rad wash
at a time. I can't wait to have him in the store Saturday, August 15th. My
favorite is the Slim Straight L.A. fit. It works with pretty much all guys
(even those with big thighs, trust me I have heard that excuse one too many
times). It's not too slim, so you will not look like your 13 year old son,
brother or me for that matter.
These look great with a blazer and broken in boots. I am liking the John
Varvatos combat boots. I am thinking this Fall will be all about selvedge denim and broken in boots. For those guys looking for a more relaxed bootcut check out the Washington fit. I will get an interview with Simon and video footage of the event. If you're close by, come check it out! I am super excited for it. We also have a ton of stuff coming up this week so check back as we are doing a mini remodel at Blue Beetle and Blue Bee Men. I am hoping we do an all-nighter one of the days to get everything together for the weekend. Peace out blogsters Daniel

Date Night-Eighties Throwback by Ashley Tammietti, Blue Bee Buyer

As the buyer for Blue Bee Boutique day in and day out I help people figure out what to where to all different kinds of occasions using items from my favorite collections. I'm offering options and maybe a solution to the people who can't visit us at the boutique and maybe help you to answer the inevitable daily/nightly problem we all deal with while staring into the closet. I will share with you my favorite things to wear to parties, events, venues etc. Take from it what you will, I hope to inspire and excite you about whatever it is you're wearing to wherever it is you're going.

Dress: Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Silk Sheath with Glass Beads
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Pumps in Stucco
Bracelet: Tigerlily Silver and Swarovski Layering Necklace wrapped as bracelet.

This dress wooed me the second it came out the box. Envision walking into the swankiest lounge in town in this vibrant, exquisitely detailed bad boy. I styled it with nude pumps to show off even more killer legs, and wrapped a silver and swarovski 40" necklace around the wrist to emphasize the silver glass beading on the dress. Peace/Love.

Send me your own what to wear dilemmas at ashley@bluebee.com, I'd be happy to help.

A Stitch in Time – A Visit to the Stitch’s Jeans Showroom
by Marty Bebout, Co-Owner and Merchandise Manager, Blue Bee

You gotta LOVE the uber-awesome western styling of Stitch’s Jeans, the super exclusive brand designed in California. Using very special fabrics sewn with interesting details and hardware, Stitch’s Jeans are assembled to have a perfect fit for men and for women.

Our denim buyers, Emily Zienkiewicz and Jessica Dennison went with me to the Stitch’s Showroom in the New Mart in downtown Los Angeles. We have had such a great summer with the cool brand’s offering this summer, that we need to see what styles are available for immediate delivery. We sell Stitch’s Jeans at Blue Beetle for men and Blue Bee Jeans for women, both located on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Also they are available on our website, www.bluebee.com.

Above, Natasha and I are pretending to be models. Well SHE looks like a model anyway! Natasha looks great in anything, but Stitch’s Jeans make all girls look sexy, yet relaxed.

Endless Summer Style

Introducing Daniel Corrigan, who is a talented stylist at Blue Bee Men in Santa Barbara, CA.
"I got to thinking today that I could define a period of time in a single outfit and this one happens to be my summer outfit. It's strange to think about it but I would be willing to bet every piece of clothing you own has a unique story. I don't know what it is about this outfit that I like so much but I seem to wear it all the time. My outfit is made up of a few key pieces; the hat is from Nice Collective, tank top from NSF (paint stains from doing Serfontaine shop in shop) , short (previously pants) by Ksubi, shirt by Trovata, and lastly (and might be my favorite) are the shoes by John Varvatos for Converse dubbed the Low Profiles. I guess this is my semi introduction and you can expect some rad things in the near future. Hope this gives you inspiration for your summer uniform."
